Chad Jackson made it out to the Aras conference in Phoenix, Arizona, and GM was on stage talking about their deployment of Aras and how they’re using it. There’s been a lot of questions about this because it’s a fairly big change with General Motors. They’re using it for Change Management: specifically, to execute the processes and to follow accelerated ways of addressing minimal changes and big changes. The presenters there were mainly in IT functions and were talking about deployment. Security was also a major theme that was discussed, delving into how they were able to finely control that with Aras. Performance was also a very big issue: the presenters discussed dealing with five million MOUs in about five minutes and talking with other legacy systems.

This is a major investment for GM. Around 15,000 engineers will be working in the program, and they are launching a truck program with one of the suppliers which would result in another 5,000 users. This a fairly big commitment to Aras Innovator for Change Management. Talk soon!
