About the Study:

Lifecycle Insights conducted the 2022 CAD Security Study. Lifecycle Insights surveyed over 240 of respondents to understand what issues are driving companies to adopt digital solutions such as PDM, PLM for data and process management. In addition, the study sought insight into understanding what obstacles were met and overcome by those that implement PDM, PLM solutions vs. those that did not. Survey respondents originated mainly from North America and represented numerous industry verticals.

Study Demographics:

The findings of this study were based on 240 respondents spread across the following industries:

  • Automotive (23%)

  • Heavy Equipment/Machinery (30%)

  • Aerospace, Consumer Products, and Medical Devices (15%)

  • High Tech and Electronics (36%)

Respondents’ company revenues varied widely, but most were under $100M (31%), between $100M to $300 (30%), $300M to $750M (18%), $750M to $2B (14%) $2B to $5B (5%) and over $5B (3%).

36% of the respondents worked in the High Tech and Electronics department, 30% in Heavy Equipment/Machinery , 23% in Automotive, 15% in Aerospace, Consumer Products, and Medical Devices , and the rest in other departments.

Methodology:

Lifecycle Insights employed its proven benchmarking methodology in this quantitative research study. This methodology includes:
