Generational Complexity Discussion at COFES 2011

As of late, there’s been a lot of discussion about staffing tomorrow’s engineering workforce. There are lots of different perspectives on the issue. And at COFES 2011, we looked at a few of them. Here’s abstract of the discussion.

General Complexity
Boomer engineers are readying to retire in waves. There aren’t enough Gen X and Gen Y engineers to replace them. And Gen Z shows little interest in the engineering fields. How serious is this? What are the implications? What variables most directly affect the situation?

A great thing about COFES is that they actually record the audio for all of the sessions. If you’d like to dive in deep, you can listen to the entire discussion below.
