Chad Jackson, the Principal Analyst of Lifecycle Insights, is a recognized authority on technologies that enable engineering, including CAD, simulation, PDM and PLM. He researches, publishes, blogs and speaks on how engineering leverages these technologies to improve their design and development processes. Due to his technical knowledge, thought leadership and more than 20 years in the industry, Chad is a sought-after expert, author and speaker that has advised, published and presented dozens of times both domestically and internationally.
As the Principal Analyst of Lifecycle Insights, Chad has published over 100 publications (eBooks and whitepapers) and presentations (live events and webinars) since 2010. He is an prolific blogger, publishing more than 250 posts, and active in discussions in professional groups on relevant social networks. He has also co-hosted the Tech4PD web show, where he debates industry critical issues with Jim Brown of Tech-Clarity. Lastly, he has surveyed over 1,000 engineering organizations as part of his research studies.
Before founding Lifecycle Insights, Chad led Aberdeen’s Product Innovation and Engineering practice as Vice President and Principal Analyst. While there, Chad defined and directed the practice’s vision for the research, services and programs including the 2007, 2008 and 2009 Product Innovation Summit executive events. Chad’s research responsibilities ranged from core design and engineering issues to front-end innovation topics, technical communications, manufacturing planning and engineering related sourcing. During his four year period at Aberdeen, Chad published over 100 research based reports that benchmarked the performance, strategies and tactics of over 5,000 product development stakeholders.
Prior to Aberdeen, Chad held a number of roles at a engineering software provider for more than a decade. There he gathered customer needs, planning new product releases and supported the ongoing use of the software solutions for engineering and broader product development organizations within manufacturers.
